Thousands of students across the state took the Healthy Youth Survey this week.
The Washington State Department of Health administers the survey to sixth-, eighth-, 10th- and 12th-graders in the state every two years. The anonymous survey aims to track behaviors that can impact kids’ health. It includes questions on a variety of topics including tobacco, alcohol and drug use; diet and exercise; and bullying.
Nearly 300,000 kids in more than 1,000 school districts, including some in Clark County, take the survey. Individual answers are confidential; no names or personal identifiers are collected.
Survey results should be available by spring 2013 and can be broken down by educational service district and county.
