County seeks solid-waste board member

CLARK COUNTY — Clark County commissioners are seeking a volunteer to fill a position on the Solid Waste Advisory Commission.

The position represents the southeast area of the county, and applicants must reside in the area roughly bounded by Northeast 179th Street to the north, state Highway 503 or Northeast 117th Avenue to the west, the Columbia River to the south and Skamania County to the east.

Board members serve three-year terms. The group meets 6 p.m. the first Thursday of the month at the Auto Licensing and Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St.

The job requires recommendations be made on solid waste, landfills, transfer stations, recycling, waste reduction programs and other issues.

Interested residents must send a letter of interest and resume to Jennifer Clark, Commissioners’ Office, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver 98666-5000. Submissions must be receive by Oct. 31.
