Clark County officials are inviting residents to talk about the ongoing Camp Bonneville munitions cleanup during an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at Vancouver Fire Station 4, 6701 N.E. 147th Ave.

A new contractor has been at the site since June working to remove unexploded munitions and hazardous materials from the former U.S. Army base east of Vancouver. Munitions include small-arms ammunition, artillery shells, shoulder-fired rockets and grenades.

The open house will provide residents a chance to speak with officials from Clark County, the Washington State Department of Ecology, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Weston Solutions Inc., the general contractor.

For more information, visit the county website at Camp Bonneville.
