New Approaches to Washington, a group advocating the legalization of recreational marijuana, will host a discussion at 7 p.m. Friday at the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St.

Rick Steves, a European travel writer and TV personality, will speak in favor of Initiative 502, which would decriminalize possession of an ounce or less of marijuana for people 21 and older. It’s on the ballot in Washington state this fall.

Guest speakers will be followed by a moderated question and answer session with the audience. For more information, visit New Approach Washington.
