Gunnar Long, Ridgefield
Ridgefield’s Gunnar Long was voted The Columbian’s football player of the week in a vote by fans on Facebook.
Long collected 35 percent of the 676 votes cast by fans. La Center’s Jared Huddleston had 24 percent for second place.
Long completed 7 of 13 passes for 146 yards and rushed for three touchdowns in Ridgefield’s 56-3 win over Washougal in Week 6. It is the second week in a row a Ridgefield player has won the weekly honor.
Other nominees for Week 6 included Columbia River’s Clayton Frank, Union’s Leon Siofele and Woodland’s Cy Whitmire.
Nominees are posted on The Columbian’s blog at www.360preps.com on Saturday. Voting starts shortly thereafter at www.facebook.com/360preps and continues until Tuesday evening.
