Firefighters from Portland and Vancouver are responding to a two-alarm grass fire on Hayden Island.

The fire was first reported around 1:20 p.m. at 3000 N. Hayden Island Drive, according to emergency dispatch logs.

The fire started as a two-acre blaze. Power lines were involved, said Lt. Damon Simmons, with Portland Fire & Rescue. Crews were starting to get a handle on the fire around 2 p.m., he said.

The fire was one of several reported throughout the day.

The National Weather Service in Portland on Friday issued a Red Flag warning in effect until 9 p.m. for the Clark County area. Strong winds and low relative humidity will create high growth potential for fires, the weather service said.

This story will be updated when more information is available.
