A series of open house meetings on C-Tran’s Proposition 1 will begin next week with a pair of gatherings in Vancouver.
The first meeting begins at 6 p.m. Monday in the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St. On Thursday, C-Tran will host another meeting at 11:30 a.m. in the Penguin Union Building at Clark College, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way.The transit agency has scheduled a total of five such opportunities for voters to learn more about Proposition 1. The ballot measure would raise the local sales tax by 0.1 of a percentage point to help pay for a proposed bus rapid transit line along Vancouver’s Fourth Plain corridor, and maintenance and operation of a light rail extension planned as part of the $3.5 billion Columbia River Crossing project.
Future open house meetings will be held in Battle Ground, Washougal and Vancouver. Ballots for the Nov. 6 election will be mailed Oct. 15.
