Vancouver schools offer three patron tours

Vancouver Public Schools will offer three patron tours with Superintendent Steve Webb during the 2012-2013 school year:

• Nov. 2: Skyview High School and Hough Elementary School.

• Jan. 25: Vancouver iTech Preparatory (STEM magnet high school on the Washington State University Vancouver campus) and Discovery Middle School.

• March 8: Vancouver iTech Preparatory (STEM magnet middle school on the Jim Parsley Center campus) and Felida Elementary School.

Highlights will include innovative uses of technology in the classroom, family-community resource centers, and the district’s new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) magnet schools.

Tours begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. They feature a lunch prepared by students in the district’s award-winning culinary arts program.
