Image Elementary School was briefly under lockdown Thursday afternoon following reports of an intruder on campus.

The school, 4400 N.E. 122nd Ave., went into lockdown at about 12:50 p.m. Thursday. The lockdown was lifted shortly after 1 p.m., said Kris Fay, public information coordinator for Evergreen Public Schools.

At about 1 p.m., the man was reportedly running from the campus, according to 911 dispatchers.

Police responded to the school and arrested John L. Double, 34, of Vancouver, just outside the school’s campus, said Kim Kapp, Vancouver Police Department spokesman. He was booked at the Clark County Jail on suspicion of criminal trespass.

Kapp said Double was spotted at the school two days earlier and ordered by the principal to leave.

In addition to being arrested, the man was given a “no trespass” notice, prohibiting him from being on school grounds.
