John Norcross, Camas
Camas’ John Norcross was voted The Columbian’s football player of the week in a vote by fans on Facebook.
Norcross collected 30 percent of the 985 votes cast by fans to beat out Nolan Henry of Union. Henry had 28 percent. All five nominees drew at least 103 votes.
Norcross rushed for 108 yards, scored five touchdowns — including one on an 11-yard reception — set up one of TDs with an interception and had several big hits on defense in the Papermakers’ 42-17 win over Skyview.
Other nominees included Battle Ground’s Ian Humphrey, Columbia River’s Remick Kawawaki and Mountain View’s Austin Mace.
Nominees are posted on The Columbian’s blog at www.360preps.com on Saturday. Voting starts shortly thereafter at www.facebook.com/360preps and continues until Tuesday evening.
