Choke or comeback?
That’s the debate in the golf world, measuring up the Europeans’ win over the Americans at the Ryder Cup on Sunday.
“Of the 11 matches that went to the 18th hole all week at Medinah, the Americans won exactly zero of them. That’s choke city if you ask me,” concluded CBSSports.com blogger Shane Bacon.
Or …
“The Europeans should get all the praise for this one, and not the Americans for letting it slip away. It was good golf by the entire team on Sunday and as impressive a comeback as there has ever been in sports,” countered Bacon.

After the Seattle Seahawks’ less-than-stellar offensive performance Sunday at St. Louis, there was thought that rookie quarterback Russell Wilson might be taking a seat to Matt Flynn in the near future.
Apparently the future isn’t going to be Week 5.
Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Wilson remains the Seahawks’ best option despite throwing three interceptions against the Rams.
Seattle Times beat writer Danny O’Neil wrote on his blog that “… the red-zone difficulties and third-down conversions are cause for concern. How much longer can Seattle wait for Wilson to start extending drives and guiding the team to touchdowns?”
Now there’s some question about Flynn’s elbow.
“Matt’s ready to play,” Carroll said Monday. “We just don’t know what’s going to happen when he gets a lot of work. He might be all right, we don’t know that, but we have not taken him there yet.”
Flynn might have to go there sooner than later.

With the Washington Huskies and Oregon Ducks set to do battle on the football field Saturday night, it only seems fitting that these two athletic programs enter the week sharing something. …
Like the No. 2 national ranking in women’s volleyball.
Being this high in the poll isn’t new for Washington (2005 NCAA title ring a bell?), but this is Oregon’s best-ever ranking in volleyball.
The teams face each other on Oct. 13 in Eugene and Nov. 16 in Seattle.
