TACOMA — Budda Baker and Jack Meggs each scored two touchdowns as Bellevue rushed for 315 yards in a 35-3 victory over Eastside Catholic to claim their fifth straight Class 3A state championship on Friday night.

Bellevue has never lost in a title game and has now won 10 of the last 12 Class 3A championships and 11 titles across all classifications.

Baker put Bellevue on top early with a 71-yard punt return for a touchdown after a pair of penalties stalled Eastside Catholic’s opening possession. Baker caught the line drive punt at his own 29-yard line and knifed straight through the Eastside Catholic defense for the score.

Jacob Gai’s 33-yard field goal early in the second quarter proved to be the only points of the night for Eastside Catholic in their first trip to the title game.

Meggs led the way for Bellevue’s dominant ground attack rushing for 108 yards and two scores. Meggs also completed 4 of 7 passes for 35 yards. Myles Jack finished with 105 yards on six carries and Baker ran for 93 yards on five carries for Bellevue.

Lind-Ritzville-Sprague 21, Morton-White Pass 19 — Lind-Ritzville-Sprague converted a fourth-and-19 with just over 3 minutes left and Connor O’Neill scored on a 4-yard run two plays later as LRS rallied to win the Class 2B state title.

Trailing 19-15 with 3:04 left to play, Dylan Hartz connected with O’Neill for 24 yards on fourth down to keep the Lind-Ritzville-Sprague hopes alive. After a 14-yard run by Hartz to the Morton-White Pass 4-yard line, O’Neill scored to take the lead.

Hartz then made a leaping one-handed interception of Rylon Kolb’s pass on the first play of Morton-White Pass’ possession to give the ball back to Lind-Ritzville-Sprague.
