Martha’s Pantry, a downtown Vancouver food bank that caters to people living with HIV/AIDS, is hosting a World Aids Day remembrance and talk today.
The event is set for 6:45 to 8 p.m. at the Clark County Public Health Center for Community Health, 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver, in the second-floor conference room.
There will be a memory tree, music and a candle-lighting, as well as a keynote speech on progress toward an AIDS vaccine. The speaker will be Nancy L. Haigwood, senior scientist and director of the Oregon National Primate Research Center at Oregon Health & Science University. Also, local citizens will be on hand to discuss living with HIV.
