Matt Delisle shook off a slow start, and his fast finish finished off the Hawks.
Delisle scored 13 of his 18 points in the fourth quater, leading Fort Vancouver to the 12-point victory.
The Trappers (2-0) trailed by a point heading into the fourth quarter. Delisle, though, connected on three consecutive 3-pointers to push Fort up by eight.
Loris Hervey led the Trappers (20) with 20 points.
Wyatt Yearout led Hockinson with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Alan Haagen had 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists for the Hawks, who were playing their first game of the season.
“Fort was better down the stretch,” Hockinson coach Matt Gruhler said. “We got some of the shots we wants, but we just didn’t make them.”
