A Battle Ground-based excavation company was among about two dozen entities hit with a fine of $1,000 or more in the third quarter of 2012, the state Department of Ecology announced Tuesday.
Clark County Excavating was fined $1,500 in September as it worked on the Packard Creek Ranch construction site outside Ridgefield. The company worked on the site without a required construction stormwater general permit, according to the ecology department. Discharges from that site drain into nearby Packard Creek.
State ecology regulators handed out a total of $491,628 in penalties between July 1 and Sept. 30.
Clark County Excavating was the only entity in Clark County to receive a fine between July and September.
