The Vancouver Police Department has joined the Clark County Medications Take Back Program, offering to accept unwanted controlled substances at its west precinct.

Residents can dispose of unwanted or outdated controlled substances — which include prescription medications, such as painkillers and tranquilizers — at the west precinct, 2800 Stapleton Road, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.

The medication drop station has self-sealing bags and instructions. Liquids and needles are not accepted.

Eight other law enforcement precincts and stations across Clark County accept unwanted medications.
