Pets of the week

Sammie is a 13-year-old boxer. She has been in a foster home for a little while, and is learning all sorts of new things. Sammie is a low-key gal and has done well with the children who visit her foster home. She would be happiest in a home with no children younger 10. Little kids can be too active for this senior gal. If you’re interested in meeting Sammie, e-mail aanderson@southwesthumane.org and schedule an appointment.

Hunter is a 2-and-a-half-year-old domestic medium-haired, neutered male. He was adopted as a kitten and recently returned when his family had to move and could not take him with them. Hunter lived with two dogs and played well with them. He has not lived with cats and would need a slow introduction to any other cats in the family. He would like to be in an indoor-only home to keep his longer coat from getting matted. Bring in any children Hunter might live with to meet this sweet boy.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
