Campaign signs in Camas and Washougal, and along state highways, must be removed by Friday, according to political sign guidelines posted on Clark County’s elections website. Political signs in Vancouver and other parts of the county must be removed by Wednesday.

Republican campaign volunteers are encouraged to take old campaign signs to the Clark County Republican Headquarters, 7736 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave.

They also are encouraged to call ahead of time to make sure someone will be at the headquarters. The phone number for the headquarters is 360-695-1609. Do not ditch the signs outside of the headquarters, organizers say.

The guidelines about political signs do not specify whether there are any fines for failing to remove signs. The county’s elections supervisor, Tim Likness, said the greatest penalty would be government workers yanking the signs and disposing of them, rather than allowing campaigns to reuse their signs for future elections.
