A community meeting on Monday will focus on the management of Mount St. Helens and accomplishments during the past year.

Stakeholders will be invited to discuss what progress has been made on the Mount St. Helens National Monument, using an earlier strategic investment plan. Recent changes at the mountain include a new outdoor amphitheater and other facility upgrades. The former Coldwater Ridge Visitor Center also reopened as a science and learning center.

The monument, within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, operates under the watch of the U.S. Forest Service. Its management has been the subject of debate for years.

Monday’s meeting is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gifford Pinchot forest headquarters, 10600 N.E. 51st Circle in Vancouver.
