Dripster, River Maiden’s downtown coffee shop at 701 Main St., is closing Friday after four years in business.
The company’s main McLoughlin Heights cafe, 602 N. Devine Road, will remain open. The owners plan to shift employees from the downtown shop into the main store.
The downtown shop suffered from slow business, which led to the decision, said co-owner Aaron Flies.
“Our immediate plans are to focus on River Maiden cafe, but we do have some things in the works for 2013,” said Flies. “We loved everything about our downtown spot except that it underperformed on the business side. It was well-received, it was just the economics of downtown.”
