RIDGEFIELD — Capital of Olympia took a lead in the first four minutes and did not let up Friday, beating Ridgefield 42-6 in a Class 2A district playoff game.
“This was a tough game,” Ridgefield coach Dan Anderson said. “The guys fought hard and never gave up. I’m proud of every last one of them.”
Capital (8-2) rushed for 328 yards on its way to 397 yards of offense, led by 112 on the ground from Kai Vansickle. The Cougars advance to the 16-team state Class 2A playoffs.
“It’s no wonder this team has the record it has,” Anderson said. “They have a very talented team and we had the challenge of trying to stop their run game.”
