Hockinson traveled to Olympia on Friday night and quickly found itself in the hole during its Class 2A district playoff game against Tumwater. Hockinson stumbled out of the playoffs with a 45-7 loss.

On just the third play from scrimmage, Tumwater’s Andrew Brown scored on a 13-yard touchdown run, then quarterback Jayden Croft rushed in a 6-yard keeper at the 4:41 mark of the first quarter.

Although Hockinson’s Austen Johnson stopped another score by intercepting Croft, when Hockinson took over at its own 1-yard line, Tumwater got the safety on a fumbled fourth-down play. Tumwater led 16-0 after the first quarter and poured in 22 more points before halftime.

Hockinson would get on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter with quarterback Jess Krahn finding Hayden Stultz for the 9-yard touchdown strike.

Krahn completed 12 of 26 passes for 185 yards, he also threw an interception to go along with his touchdown.

Running back Thomas Kirschenbuam led Hockinson with 10 rushes and 81 yards.

Hockinson concludes the season with a 6-4 record.
