A Vancouver man was sentenced Friday to seven years in federal prison for trafficking in stolen guns.
Jamie Patrick Edgtton, 34, was also sentenced in U.S. District Court in Tacoma to three years of supervised release for possession and sale of stolen firearms and sale or transfer of firearms to a prohibited person.
Edgtton pleaded guilty in August, admitting he sold the guns that had been stolen in a November 2011 burglary of Discount Guns in Vancouver.
Soon after the burglary, prosecutors said, Edgtton procured two stolen firearms, a .22-caliber rifle and a 9mm pistol. Edgtton sold the two guns and a third handgun to a felon who he knew was prohibited from possessing guns, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
