TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Washington state Republicans have started electing delegates to the party’s national convention, and so far, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas has won five of the 40 elected positions.
Paul won all three delegates from the Seattle-based 7th Congressional District, and a slate of three candidates supported by Paul’s camp swept in the 3rd District in southwest Washington. That slate included one delegate who aligned herself with Rick Santorum.
Nominee Mitt Romney has already secured enough delegates to win the nomination, though Paul continues to campaign.
