Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation will host a 2.5-mile paddle event Saturday on Lake River near Ridgefield.
The event, dubbed The Big Paddle, will highlight historic, environmental and cultural sites along the way and a multiagency effort to develop a plan to provide greater access to waterways in Clark County.
Participants will leave at 10 a.m. from the Ridgefield waterfront for the trip, which should take about two hours.
People with their own kayaks or canoes can join the event using the Division Street kayak launch site in Ridgefield.
The Lions Club will sell refreshments before and after the event.
