The Port of Camas-Washougal has received a $50,000 grant to complete an environmental review as part of its plan to develop the 120-acre Steigerwald Commerce Center. The grant is part of a larger, $1.6 million pool of funds issued by the Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board to projects in Clark, Skagit and Pierce counties.

The $50,000 grant issued to the Port of Camas-Washougal is matched by $20,000 provided by the port. The state grant is expected to help speed the permitting process for the Steigerwald Commerce Center.

The property is the largest industrially zoned, undeveloped parcel in Clark County.

The port has said it could break ground and begin installing infrastructure on a portion of Steigerwald in August.
