Clark’s Collura wins gold glove award

Clark College third baseman Bud Collura, a Skyview High grad, was named among the NWAACC Gold Glove winners. Collura had just two errors in 36 games.

Tacoma catcher Chad Michaud, a Prairie High grad, also won a gold glove.

Mt. Hood relief pitcher Christian Bannister, a Columbia River grad, was named to the All-NWAACC first team. Collura was named second team infielder.

Pierce wins baseball title

Pierce won its first NWAACC baseball championship on Monday, defeating Mt. Hood 10-8 at Longview. Mt. Hood forced a second game Monday with a 4-2 win earlier in the day.

For Mt. Hood, Camas grad Taylor Williams was 2-4 with a two-run double in the title game, and he also was 1 for 3 in the first game. Alex Foulon, a Heritage grad, was 1 for 2 with an RBI in the final game.
