Boys soccer
CLASS 4A: Skyview will be making its first appearance in the state semifinals when it takes on Central Valley of Spokane Valley at 6 p.m. Friday at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.
CLASS 3A: Mountain View is riding a nine-game winning streak as it heads into Friday’s semifinal against Bainbridge at 2 p.m. at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.
CLASS 1A: Ridgefield, in the state semifinals for the first time since 2005, faces Overlake of Renton at 2 p.m. at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner.
Softball
CLASS 3A: Camas and Mountain View are the last two Clark County softball teams still in action. Both will be at the 3A state tournament at the turf fields at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey.
Camas, the 3A Greater St. Helens League champion, will open with a noon game against Bainbridge. Mountain View faces Juanita of Kirkland at noon.
If both teams win in the first round, they would face off in the state quarterfinals at 4 p.m. The championship game is set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Track and field
CLASS 4A/3A/2A: The meet, which started Thursday, continues Friday and Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.
Friday’s final includes the 4A boys pole vault, which includes Skyview’s Jameson Shirley and Union’s Joe Thompson. Saturday is the big day with Heritage’s Sean Keller competing in the 4A javelin, River’s Jennifer DeBellis in the girls 3A pole vault and Camas’ Alexa Efraimson in the 3A girls 800.
1A/2B/1B: The two-day event will be held at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.
4A, 2A tennis
CLASS 4A: Skyview’s Kent Andreason and Union’s Alex Wallace will be in the mix in boys singles bracket at Richland High School and the Columbia Basin Racquet Club. On the girls side, Skyview freshman Sammi Hampton won a bi-district title last week. Sophomores Jelena Vidovic of Union and Kylee Tyler-Breimon of Battle Ground look to medal for a second consecutive season.
CLASS 2A: Hockinson’s Michelle Chiou is in the girls singles bracket at the Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle.
3A, 1A tennis
CLASS 3A: Camas’ Esther Kwon is coming off a bi-district title in girls single, while Mountain View’s Trevor Jones placed second in boys singles. But doubles may be where local entries could make noise, led by Prairie’s Akari and Shiori Baba and Columbia River’s Julie Piboonvaranggoon and Myra Lukens in the girls bracket. Those teams faced off in the bi-district final with the Baba sisters winning.
CLASS 1A/2B/1B: Ridgefield’s Shawntel Kallianen is in the girls singles bracket at the Yakima Tennis Club.
