KELSO (AP) — A judge has ordered the people who tried to ransom a bulldog in Woodland to pay $2,700 in restitution.
A Cowlitz County judge set the amount Tuesday for Johnny Lee Jordan and Ivy Rose Svaleson of Longview who pleaded guilty to extortion. Jordan was sentenced earlier to more than three years in prison and Svaleson to nine months in jail.
The Daily News reported another man charged, Jesse James Clark of Kelso, would have to pay a share of the restitution if convicted.
The 2-year-old English bulldog named Jagger was taken in October from the Woodland home of Jennifer Thomas. She received a text message demanding prescription drugs and money if she wanted her dog back.
Jagger was found dead about three weeks later along railroad tracks in Kelso.
