Offices that overlook the Columbia River are earmarked as a new Vancouver satellite home for the Wilbur-Ellis Co., an agricultural products distributor and service provider based in San Francisco.

The company plans to take up 10,000 square feet of space in the second floor of the Columbia Shores Office Condominium building, which opened in 2009 at 2001 S.E. Columbia River Drive. It is unclear whether the move represents an expansion or a relocation for Wilbur-Ellis, which also operates offices in Wilsonville and Clackamas. Calls to the company Thursday were not returned.

The company ranks 188th on Forbes’ 2011 Fortune 500 list. Wilbur-Ellis, which has three divisions — food preservation, feed products, and chemical fertilizers and weed control — generated $2.34 billion in revenue in 2011.

The offices of Wilbur-Ellis are part of a building developed by Vancouver-based C.E. John Co. It is situated just east of Beaches Restaurant & Bar. The development is an office-condominium project in which potential occupants can purchase its 5,000-square-foot office suit. Wilbur-Ellis will apparently occupy two suites with an unspecified number of employees.

Ground-floor office space in Columbia Shores is occupied by two companies, Martel Wealth Advisors and Regents Bank. In 2010, the building was honored by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program as a silver certification recipient for sustainable construction and efficient energy systems.
