Battle Ground police said Monday there were no updates on the investigation into the death of Tatyana Tupikova, whose body was found May 11 in a ditch along state Highway 503.

“Police are still investigating it as a hit-and-run,” said Bonnie Gilberti, city spokeswoman.

A passer-by reported seeing the body around 3 p.m. May 11 near the road between Eaton Boulevard and Main Street in Battle Ground. The following day police identified the body as Tupikova, 22, who was last seen a few days earlier. An autopsy determined the cause of Tupikova’s death as blunt-force trauma.

Police are asking anyone who saw suspicious activity around 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, to call Detective Joshua Phelps at 360-342-5254, Joshua.Phelps@cityofbg.org or http://cityofbg.org/tips.

The Battle Ground Burgerville will have a fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to a memorial Facebook page for Tupikova. A portion of all the sales will be donated to the family.

Yo Factory set up a donation box for the Tupikova family and will match every dollar up to $1,000, an employee said Monday.
