The southbound span of the Interstate Bridge will close at 11 p.m. Monday so ODOT crews can continue counterweight repairs. The bridge will reopen before the Tuesday morning commute.
Southbound traffic may take SR 14 east to Interstate 205 and cross into Oregon on the Glenn Jackson Bridge. Until the repairs are completed, the southbound bridge span can lift to 59 feet.
Depending on river levels, that will provide about 85 feet of clearance, which is sufficient for all but the tallest of river vessels.
