Friday is final day of candidate filing week

State Sen. Craig Pridemore, D-Vancouver, has filed for state auditor according to an updated candidate list released Thursday by the Clark County Elections Office.

Pridemore, who announced plans to run in November, has three opponents so far: James Watkins, R-Kirkland; state. Rep. Troy Kelley, D-Tacoma; and state Rep. Mark Miloscia, D-Federal Way.

Auditor Brian Sonntag decided not to seek another term.

Also Thursday, state Rep. Jim Moeller, D-Vancouver, filed for re-election to his Position 2 seat in the 49th District and David Campos became the seventh person to file to replace Carol Curtis on the Clark Public Utilities Board of Commissioners. Curtis, who represents District 1, decided not to seek re-election.

Candidates must file by 5 p.m. Friday at the Clark County Auditor’s Office, 1408 Franklin St. If filing online, the deadline is 4 p.m. Friday.

A complete list of candidates will run in Saturday’s newspaper.
