Ngawang Choephel, Mountain View boys soccer
Mountain View’s Ngawang Choephel has been voted The Columbian’s high school athlete of the week for the week of May 7-12 by a vote of fans on Facebook.
Choephel collected 56.9 percent of the 109 votes cast this week to easily beat out the field.
Choephel had two goals and two assists as Mountain View knocked off No. 4 Decatur in a bi-district playoff to reach the 4A state tournament.
The other candidates were Columbia River golfer Chloe Bartek, Ridgefield softball player Shannon Boyle, Skyview tennis player Sammi Hampton and Union track and field athlete Tanner Sork.
