Law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty will be honored at a local ceremony on Thursday.
The annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the courtyard of the Clark County Public Service Center at 13th and Franklin streets in downtown Vancouver.
All regional law enforcement agencies will be represented at the ceremony, which will include the posting of the colors and a 21-gun salute. State Rep. Ann Rivers, R-La Center, will give the address. Portland Police Highland Guard Bagpipers will perform.Two law enforcement officers from Washington, three from Oregon and 163 across the country were killed in the line of duty in 2011, according to a sheriff’s office release.
