A wreck on Interstate 5 involving two tractor-trailer rigs this afternoon sent one driver to the hospital with minor injuries and blocked southbound traffic near Ridgefield for more than an hour, Washington State Patrol officials said.
Around 1:08 p.m., a tractor-trailer rig rear-ended the rig in front of it, blocking the left and center lanes near Exit 14 on southbound I-5. Traffic flow in those lanes resumed when the rigs were moved to the right lane, leaving that lane momentarily blocked.
As of 2:20 p.m., traffic in all three lanes had resumed its normal flow, said Trooper Ryan Tanner with Washington State Patrol.
One tractor-trailer driver suffered minor leg injuries and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, Tanner said. Neither the drivers’ identities nor the cause of the wreck were immediately available.
