Candidate filing week continues through Friday

Filing week for the upcoming Primary election began yesterday and continues through Friday at 5 p.m.

While there are no Camas or Washougal government positions up for re-election this year, local voters will cast their ballots for positions including U.S. senator and representative, statewide administrative offices including governor, State Supreme Court, and state legislative positions.

Candidates who have filed so far include:

U.S. Senator: Chuck Jackson of Snohomish, Michael Baumgartner of Kirkland, Maria Cantwell of Seattle, and Art Coday of Shoreline.

3rd District Representative: John T. Haugen of Vancouver and Jaime Herrera Beutler of Camas.

18th District State Rep.: Liz Pike of Camas

The primary election is Aug. 7, followed by the general election Nov. 6.
