A string of singles helped produce a five-run first inning and move the Prairie softball team a step closer to the 3A district title game with its 8-1 win over Mountain View on Thursday at Kelso.
Prairie faces Kelso at 4 p.m. today and the winner of that meets Camas at 6 p.m. for the championship.
Alyssa Nance led the Prairie hit parade by going 3 for 4 with a double and three RBI.
Rylie Nance, Taylor Bussey and Nicole O’Haver each added two hits and an RBI.
Mountain View had advanced to play Prairie by eliminating Hudson’s Bay 6-0 earlier Thursday.

Washougal 2, Hockinson 1 — Goals by Elesey Razumovskiy and seven stops by Caleb Howard in goal helped Washougal eliminate Hockinson in the 2A district playoffs.
Washougal next hosts Aberdeen at 6 p.m. Saturday with the winner advancing to state.
White Salmon 1, Seton Catholic 0 (OT) — The Bruins scored in the fourth minute of overtime to claim the No. 2 seed from the Trico for the 1A state tournament.
Seton Catholic will be the No. 3 seed to state.
Kentridge 2, Battle Ground 1 (SO) — Kentridge won the pigtail game of the 4A bi-district playoffs, eliminating Battle Ground.
