Esther Kwon, Camas girls tennis
Camas freshman Esther Kwon has been voted The Columbian’s high school athlete of the week for the week of April 30-May 5 by vote of fans on Facebook.
Kwon collected 42 percent of the 409 votes cast this week.
Kwon dropped just three games in four matches to win the Class 3A singles district championship. The Papermakers also wrapped up the 3A Greater St. Helens team title on Wednesday.
The other candidates for athlete of the week were Columbia River track and field athlete Darius Raiford, Mountain View baseball player Zach Torson, Seton Catholic soccer player Erik Powell, and Skyview softball player Michelle Brincefield.
