A 17-year-old Vancouver boy suffered minor injuries Thursday when the car he was driving overturned around 1 p.m. on northbound Interstate 5 north of the Fourth Plain Boulevard onramp.
Jesus Salazarpelayo was transported by ambulance to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with cuts to his left hand and a sore knee, according to a Washington State Patrol accident report.
However, the hospital had no record that he was treated.
Salazarpelayo was attempting to move into the left lane at the 33rd Street overpass between the Fourth Plain and 39th Street exits when his 1994 green Acura Integra collided with a concrete barrier, causing the vehicle to roll over and block traffic.
State Patrol troopers were able to push the overturned car, still on its roof, onto the shoulder to allow traffic to pass. Traffic had backed up to Fourth Plain.
The accident was caused by speeding and inattention, according to the WSP.
