Everybody has an opinion, but here is the somewhat consensus of which teams were winners and which were losers in the National Football League draft.
Winners: Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Washington, San Diego and Philadelphia. Losers: Seattle, Chicago, Washington and St. Louis.
The Eagles helped a horrid run defense with a defensive end, defensive tackle and inside linebacker in the first two rounds and maybe got a QB for the future in Nick Foles of Arizona in the third.
San Diego got a steal in defensive lineman Melvin Ingram at No. 18 and added some good depth on their offensive line.
Buffalo is believed to have added a wide range of talent at several positions. Pittsburgh got Stanford guard David DeCastro at No. 24. DeCastro could have been a top 15 pick. They also helped their line with offensive tackle Mike Adams in the second round. Adams is a first-round talent with off-the-field issues.
The Seahawks’ draft generally was considered the worst in the league by the bloggers. Craveonline.com asks: “if their decision makers are possessed by Al Davis.’’
Other alleged losers in the draft include St. Louis, Chicago and Washington. The Redskins took Michigan State QB Kirk Cousins in the fourth round when their needs on offense are much more important than a backup quarterback.

With a month of the MLB season gone, three power rankings place the Mariners at No. 20, No. 21 and No. 22. Bleacherrport.com is the kindest to Seattle ranking the M’s at No. 20.
Two Seattle players — catcher Miguel Olivo and shortstop Brendan Ryan — made bleacherreport’s list of the top 50 underachievers for April.
The top five in the rankings are 1. Texas, 2. St. Louis, 3. Tampa Bay, 4. Los Angeles Dodgers and No. 5 either Washington or Atlanta. Minnesota is everyone’s choice for No. 30.
