Heavy rain prompts flood advisory

Are you waterlogged yet?

Heavy rain has pummeled Southwest Washington late this week, with nearly 1.5 inches of rain having fallen in Vancouver in just the past day.

Heading into the weekend, it doesn’t look like weather will make the shift to a sunny spring just yet.

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for parts of Southwest Washington and Oregon through this afternoon, calling for localized flooding.

The advisory also urges drivers to take caution on the water-filled roadways.

Forecasters call for the rain to continue through the weekend, with the heavier rains tapering off by Sunday. Temperatures will be chilly, too, with a high of 51 and 50, respectively, on Saturday and Sunday.

Winds reaching 20 mph are expected today. But the blustery weather is anticipated to taper off this weekend.
