The Washington Coalition for Open Government will hold a free community forum on open government issues from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 20 at Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St.
The forum will include a panel featuring state archivist Jerry Handfield, Assistant Attorney General Tim Ford, WCOG President Toby Nixon and Martha Martin, president of the Concerned Citizens in Action of Camas/Washougal. Attorney Brad Andersen with Schwabe, Wyatt and Williamson of Vancouver will serve as moderator.
Panelists will give a brief presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.
“I think this event will be particularly interesting because the Association of Washington Cities is having their annual meeting at the same time,” said Patience Rogge, chairwoman of the WCOG Events Committee. The association and WCOG have been on opposite sides of proposed legislation, including a bill to allow the taping of executive sessions.
