Once a month, downtown Vancouver hosts art lovers and artists as part of its First Friday tradition. Several downtown galleries take part in the monthly event, staying open late to showcase new exhibits. Artists routinely stop by to discuss their works. Other highlights include live music and refreshments.

The next First Friday event is coming up on April 6. We’ll hold a live web chat ahead of the event with members of downtown Vancouver art galleries. Join us at 12:30 p.m. Friday March 30 to discuss the new exhibits and more.

The upcoming First Friday event will feature a special unveiling, in addition to the exhibit openings. It will mark the unveiling of the latest sculpture from Cobalt Designworks of Vancouver. The sculpture will be unveiled at 7 p.m. April 6 at the corner of Evergreen and Main streets in downtown Vancouver. Get more information here.

Sign up for an email reminder at www.columbian.com/chat, and come back on Friday to participate in the event. Login with Facebook, Twitter, OpenID or MySpace will be required to leave questions or comments, but anyone can watch the action.
