Mountain View senior Michael Rivers has been voted The Columbian’s high school athlete of the week for the week of March 12-17 by a vote of fans on Facebook.
Rivers collected 34.5 percent of the 386 votes cast this week to beat Mountain View girls track and field athlete Kathran Dean, who collected 27.7 percent.
Rivers collected five hits, including a double and a triple, and scored two runs, drove in three runs and stole two bases in the Thunder’s three games last week.
Other candidates were Ridgefield boys soccer player Jared Williams, Skyview boys track and field athlete Jameson Shirley and Camas softball player Harli Hubbard.
