Clark County — A proposal by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services to integrate Medicare and Medicaid services for people eligible for both programs is open for public comment. Comments will be accepted until April 13.

The plan would streamline health care for people who use services from both programs. Medicare is a federal program designed for people 65 and older and people with disabilities. Medicaid serves low-income residents and is funded by both federal and state governments.

Washington is one of 15 states to receive a $1 million federal planning grant from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to devise ways to streamline access to health care for dually eligible people.

View the report, watch a webinar, provide comment and participate in a brief survey on the plan at http://www.adsa.dshs.wa.gov/duals.
