Area woman awarded White House internship

Vancouver — A young woman from Clark County has landed an internship at the White House this spring.

Alyssa McClure of Vancouver will participate in the White House intern program, which is designed to encourage leadership and make the White House accessible to future leaders around the nation, according to a White House news release. McClure currently attends Evergreen State College in Olympia.

Through the program, interns work in several departments within the White House, including the National Economic Council, the Office of the First Lady and the Office of Legislative Affairs.

An application for the Fall 2012 internship program is available on the White House’s website at http://www.whitehouse.gov.
