King’s Way Christian’s Chris Crenshaw and Prairie’s Jackie Lanz were voted as The Columbian’s co-high school athlete of the week in a vote of fans on Facebook.

Crenshaw and Lanz both received 29.4 percent of the 530 votes that were cast by 9 p.m. Thursday, the deadline for the vote.

Crenshaw buried 11 3-pointers and scored 35 points over two games last week to help send the Knights to their first trip to the Class 1B state tournament.

Lanz had 18 points and nine rebounds in about three quarters of action as Prairie routed Juanita to return to the 3A state tournament. She also scored 11 points in a bi-district championship game win over Wilson.

Other candidates were Prairie girls basketball player Megan Lindsley, Skyview girls basketball player Jocelyn Adams and Union boys basketball player Jordan Chatman.

Check back at The Columbian’s high school sports Facebook page at www.facebook.com360preps on Sunday for next week’s athlete-of-the-week nominees. Voting begins Monday and continues through Thursday night.
