A 39-year-old Clark County man was arrested Friday in connection with the June 25 robbery of the West Coast Bank in Salmon Creek.

A bulletin from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said Juan Salas, 39, turned himself in after community tips led detectives to link him to the robbery.

“After he was identified, detectives were able to make contact with him by phone,” the bulletin said. “He arranged to turn himself in with the assistance of his attorney.”

Salas was booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of one count of first degree robbery. He will make his first appearance before a judge on Monday.

The robbery occurred on the morning of June 25 at West Coast Bank, 13305 N.E. Highway 99. Witnesses told investigators that a middle-aged dark-skinned white man entered the bank and presented a note, demanding money.

The robber left the bank on foot. Deputies could not find him during a search of the area, but released photos taken by the bank’s surveillance cameras.
