A pair of free collection events in July will allow Clark County residents to drop off hazardous household waste, block foam and unused electronics at no charge.
Household waste generally includes cleaners, pesticides, paints, solvents, batteries, motor oil and other materials. It does not, however, include explosives, ammunition, biological materials or business-generated waste, according to the county.
People may also bring small electronic devices, computers, monitors, printers and televisions. Microwaves, smoke detectors and large appliances won’t be accepted.
The county will host two collection events in Battle Ground and Hockinson. The first will happen Saturday, July 7, at Battle Ground City Hall, 109 S.W. First St. Another collection will follow on July 14 at Fire District 3 Station 3-1, 17718 N.E. 159th St. in Hockinson. Both events are scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents may also take hazardous waste to one of Clark County’s three transfer stations on certain days. More information is available at Clark County Environmental Services.
